Chef Sun

What began as a humble noodle shop with a small halal menu has grown into an almost fully halal restaurant. With a variety of dumplings and hand-pulled noodle dishes, Chef Sun has become a favorite among HalalDallas.com readers.

They’ve recently expanded with a second location in Plano, making it even easier to get your fix of authentic Shaanxi-style noodles.

Expect a short wait on weekends—it’s a popular spot for good reason. The house Biang Biang noodles are a must-try (and a staff favorite, too). If you haven’t been yet, consider this your sign to check them out.

Quick Take: Consistently great hand-pulled noodles, now with two locations in Mckinney and Plano.

DH Noodle

Representing Lanzhou-style cuisineDH Noodle brings a different kind of comfort—soupy, aromatic, and deeply flavorful. They also serve dry noodle dishes, but the broth is where they truly shine.

While seating is somewhat limited for large groups, the lamb dishes stand out, delivering a rich, distinctive taste that sets DH Noodle apart from its peers. Don’t assume that trying one of these restaurants means you’ve tried them all—each offers a completely unique flavor experience.

Quick Take: Authentic Lanzhou noodles and standout lamb dishes; small space, big flavor.

Noodle One

Perhaps the newest contender on the halal noodle scene, Noodle One shows plenty of promise but is still finding its rhythm. If you’re looking for the polish of a long-established restaurant, it may be worth giving them a little more time.

The menu leans toward comfort food, though those with gluten sensitivities should note that items aren’t clearly labeled yet. While some diners reported uneven service, the Cumin Beef Noodles were excellent—once the staff corrected the initial mix-up at the table.

If you’re the type to leave a one-star review over missing napkins, maybe wait a few months before visiting. But for the rest of us, this is one to keep an eye on as they grow into their potential.

Quick Take: Early-stage but promising; great noodles once the team settles in.
